A gradient sky dome, magenta into deep purple, with the sun sitting low the way it does over the water on the good evenings. The lake is lit to match rather than approximately: the same sky is reflected in it, so the colour of the water and the colour of the sky are one decision instead of two.
And the clock runs. Sun elevation, fog, every light and the lake's own colour move together through the day, from an opening that drops you into the last of the light down through dusk.
